KarSU Student Earns Bronze in National Kurash Championship

On June 19–20, the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports hosted the Republican Final of the “Minister’s Cup” Kurash Competition, bringing together male students from higher education institutions across the country. The highly competitive event featured more than 200 athletes from over 100 universities, who competed in weight categories of 60 kg, 66 kg, 73 kg, 81 kg, and 90+ kg. The tournament witnessed intense and dynamic matches, ultimately identifying the nation’s top young kurash wrestlers. Representing Karshi State University, student Kuvonchbek Shernazarov proudly claimed third place in the +81 kg weight category, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination on the national stage. Winners and medalists were awarded diplomas, medals, and championship trophies by Abdumalik Akramov, Director of the Centre for Student and Youth Engagement under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; Erkin Kodirov, First Deputy Chair of the Uzbekistan Student Sports Association; and Sherzod Mirzanov, First Vice-Rector of the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports.
