Date of Establishment: December 29, 2023

Scientific Direction of the Laboratory

  • Study of the chemical composition, structure, and biological activity of natural and synthetic compounds.
  • Synthesis and modification of natural and synthetic polymers and the creation of new polymer and nanocomposite materials.
  • Development of medicinal and biologically active preparations for medicine, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.
  • Investigation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the pharmacological activity of biologically active compounds.
  • Application of modern physico-chemical analysis methods, quantum-chemical calculations, and molecular modeling.
  • Development of environmentally friendly (“green”) technologies for obtaining polymeric and natural materials.
  • Creation of nanostructured materials, nanofibers, nanocomposites, and functional polymer systems with specific physical, mechanical, and electrical properties.

Laboratory Goal

The main goal of the laboratory is to conduct fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of chemistry of natural compounds, polymers, and biologically active substances in order to develop new materials, pharmaceutical products, and highly efficient technologies for their production, contributing to the development of science, industry, agriculture, and medicine in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Laboratory Tasks

  • Development of new pharmaceutical drugs based on natural and synthetic biologically active compounds for the treatment of cardiovascular, viral, and oncological diseases, as well as for diabetes, anemia, diseases of the nervous system, liver, and other vital organs, including the discovery of new properties and applications of already approved drugs.
  • Development of high-technology processes for producing domestic pharmaceutical substances and their dosage forms from plant raw materials, including technologies for the comprehensive processing of local plant resources with maximum utilization of their components and without the use of hazardous solvents and reagents, as well as technologies for extracting biologically active substances (BAS) from plant-processing industrial waste.
  • Development of modern methods for the standardization and certification of pharmaceutical products.
  • In-depth study of the molecular structure of components, principles of their interaction and structure formation, possibilities for implementing quantum-chemical processes, as well as mechanochemical methods for producing polymers with specific molecular characteristics.
