History of the university

Karshi State University, one of the oldest higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, was founded in 1945 as the Karshi branch of the Bukhara United Pedagogical Institute. On February 28, 1992, by a presidential decree, the institute was given the status of Karshi State University.

During this period, the educational institution has trained more than 70 thousand people for industries and sectors of the economy, including about 30 thousand over the years of independence.

According to employers, it is included in the TOP-30 list of the best higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. Among the corporate clients of Karshi State University are Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex LLC, Mubarek Gas Processing Plant, Dehkanabad Potash Plant JSC, Kashkadarya Regional Department of Public Education, Kashkadarya Regional Department of Preschool Education, Karshi Agrocalaster LLC and other well-known enterprises.

Karshi State University has trained tens of thousands of highly qualified specialists throughout its history. University graduates play an important role in the civil service, the economy and politics: they are members of the government, deputies, and operate and manage the largest corporations and banks in Uzbekistan. Its graduates included university rectors and doctors of science.
